Earthquake in Japan

Press Release: Is the earthquake in Japan, a fulfillment of Bible prophecy? With all that is going on in the world today, Rev. Jim Whittington, of Atlanta, GA,
asks the question: Are we living in the last days according to what is written in the Bible? Matthew 24:6-8 says “And you shall hear of wars and rumors of
wars; see then that ye be not troubled; For all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.” Rev.Whittington goes on to say
that there are other scriptures, such as Mark 13:8, which seems to come into play here, it says, “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of
sorrows.” Luke 21:11 also says that in the last days, that there will be great earthquakes in different places. And that there will be great signs from Heaven. The
world has experienced several major earthquakes in recent times, in Haiti, New Zealand, Chili, and now in Japan, and many other places. The wars that are also
going on around the world and the unrest in many nations also comes into the description of these passages of scripture. Scientists are even puzzled by the
unusual activities that are going on in the earth. Not limited to earthquakes, tsunamis, severe weather patterns, but also to many other unusual occurrences.
Violence also fills the earth today, and this also is one of the prophecies about the pattern that would exist in the world in the last days. II Timothy the third
chapter declares all of this. Rev. Jim Whittington does not claim to prophesy but only references the current events to Biblical passages.

BREAKING NEWS: Heart Creates Its Own Bypass

My mother has had two light heart attacks within the last two months. The doctor suggested a heart catheterization, even though she is 86 years old. We called all the family together to pray. We called on friends, loved ones and minsters, to pray. Bishop Dennis McGuire, the former General Overseer of the Church of God, Dr. T.L. Lowery, founder of the T. L. Lowery Global Ministries, and many others prayed for her. What I am trying to tell you is, someone, somewhere, got a prayer through. The doctors had wanted to do the heart catheterization on Friday, but Mother wanted to wait until Monday, which they did. We kind of believe that Mother was giving God a chance to work a miracle. Well, this is where the “heart creates its own bypass,” comes in. When the doctor went into the heart, he found that the artery, on the right side of Mother’s heart, was totally blocked. Because it was totally blocked, there was nothing that he could do. If it had been 99% blocked, he would have had something to work with. Here is the good news about the miracle. The doctor discovered that Mother’s heart had created a new blood flow around the blockage. You may have heard of this before, but I never have. It has all the makings of a miracle to me. Mother went home today, and the doctor said when the heart creates its own bypass, the flow gets better as time goes by. Medication will be given to help, and thank God for the doctors. The scripture I gave my mother before she went in for the catheterization, was the same scripture that I held onto in 2007. That’s when I had to have an Aortic valve replaced with an artificial valve. The doctor even said that I “flat-lined” (died) twice, on the operating table. Psalms 118:17, is the verse of scripture we both held onto, which says, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the lord.” To God be the glory!!! And for whatever it is worth department, I did see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It was my privilege to meet with super model Vanessa Davidson on my flight from Kingston. It is strange, but wonderful, how things work out. The seat I was suppose to sit in was wet for some reason, so they had to move me to another seat on the plane. They put me in the seat next to Vanessa. What a wonderful conversation with such a beautiful lady! When I told her of some of the projects we were doing in Jamaica, she informed me that she was born in Jamaica but she now resides in New York. When I told her some of the areas we work in, she said to me she was surprised because these areas were known “dangerous areas.” She told me her grandfather had been a police officer in one of the areas that we work in and that he was shot and killed in the line of duty.
Before we got off the plane, she told me that she helped her family in Jamaica and that she was going to become a partner with our ministry. She wanted to be apart of an organization that was helping the people, like our organization is. She felt as I did, that it was not by accident that we had met on that flight. I am looking forward to working together to help feed the hungry, clothe the naked, educate and help the young people of Jamaica.

Bishop John Hardy & Rev. Jim Whittington
Jamaica has suffered many setbacks in the last few months. Including floods, mudslides, and even a 4.5 earthquake. Now it is time to renew, not only the rebuilding of the island, but renewing and lifting the people’s spirit. Many lost loved ones in the flash flooding that came. One family in the church at Portmore, lost 6 members of their family, during the flash flooding. Now it is time for a revival and a renewal. We are going to minister to the people of Jamaica and assure them that God has not forsaken them and that it doesn’t rain always, and storms don’t last forever. Weeping may have endured for a night, but joy will come in the morning. We are looking forward to this being one of the highlights in our mission outreach that has been ongoing for more than 25 years in the island of Jamaica. Bishop Hardy said to me, “Rev. Jim Whittington, we need you now as never before.” And I am happy to heed the call and to be at my post of duty.

Happy Birthday to my brother Larry in Charleston, SC, 65 and still counting. We’re looking forward to an exciting week here at World Deliverance. We are preparing for our next mission trip to the Island of Jamaica. This will be our 96th trip to the island. This time, we will be under the big gospel tent in St. Thomas, Jamaica at the Yallas New Testament Church of God. Thousands will attend and it will be Heaven on Earth. If you’re in Jamaica, we’ll be looking to see you there. If you’re in another part of the world, we’ll be wishing you were there. But we desire your prayers regardless of where you are. Mark 9:23 “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

This has been a wonderful week here at World Deliverance. Thank God the snow is gone, and we could do without the snow they are saying might come. This week, we have been blessed with a new grandson. His name is Ethan. His mother, Priscilla, my daughter, is doing well and we thank God that he is healthy. Due to a conflict of schedule, our crusade in Atlanta, scheduled for February 6, has been cancelled and is being rescheduled. I will be informing you of the new date just as soon as I have it. May the lord bless you and have a wonderful weekend! Ok?
